How, what and where are the candles made?"No.14 The Wick candles are all hand-made and hand-poured in small batches in our little studio in South West London. * The candles are made using 100% soy wax (no paraffin or palm blends) * We use a blend of essential and fragrance oils. A minimum of 50% essential oil is used per candle depending on the candle scent. * We use 'eco wicks' which are made from cotton and paper filaments * The essential oils and fragrance oils used in our candles are vegan-friendly and have not been tested on animals * No.14 The Wick branded stickers are printed on recycled paper as well as our gift notes, candle care guides and parcel labels * The glass jar containers are fully recyclable or can be returned to us if you live locally. Please 'Contact Us' for further info about our Return, Reuse, Recycle eco-scheme. Unfortunately we cannot offer this scheme to those outside KT1 and TW11. * Packaging is re-used from the supplier where possible and we are constantly trying to reduce the amount of plastic/bubble-wrap that we use when wrapping and packing our candles for dispatch

How long do the candles burn for?The 220g candles burn for approximately 40 hours, however this will depend on where they are placed. If the candle is positioned in a draught when lit, they will burn more quickly and unevenly.

How do I take care of my candle? Here are our 14 tips on how to take care of your No.14 The Wick candle; 1. On first use, burn the candle until the whole wax surface has melted (approx 3-4 hours). This prevents a ‘tunnel’ from forming so it will melt more evenly thereafter. 2. Trim the wick to 5mm before lighting each time. If the wick emits a large or smokey flame or the wick ‘mushrooms’, extinguish the flame, trim the wick, then re-light. 3. DO NOT burn the candle for more than 4 hours at a time. 4. Keep candles away from children and pets. 5. Avoid burning the candle where there is a draught. 6. NEVER move a burning candle. 7. Always place your candle on a heat resistant, flat and sturdy surface. 8. Avoid burning the candle to the very end of its life. Ensure there is approx 5-10mm of wax in the bottom of the jar to prevent the container from overheating. 9. Keep lit candles away from electrical and flammable materials. 10. DO NOT use if the glass container becomes chipped, cracked or broken. 11. Realign the unlit wick (carefully!) so it is centred when the wax is still melted to ensure an even burn. 12. Keep the ‘wax pool’ free of matches or other debris. 13. NEVER leave a burning candle unattended. 14. Ensure you read the safety instructions...
